For eight years, Zac de Vries has worked to make Saanich more affordable, livable, and sustainable. As a two-term Councillor, CRD Director, and Chair of the Capital Region Housing Corporation, he has delivered results on housing, climate action, economic development, and safer communities. Now he's running for Mayor to keep Saanich moving forward.
Meet Zac
Serving our community has been the honour of my life. I was first elected to Saanich Council at 23, and for the past eight years, I’ve worked to make Saanich a better place to live, work, and raise a family.
I believe in practical leadership: listening, leading conversations, finding common ground, and focusing on results.
Residents expect their local government to take action, be a strong partner, lead by example, and remain focused on results. That’s been my approach throughout my time on Council, and as your Mayor, my leadership will be grounded in creativity, courage, collaboration, and community.
The world is changing, and we need to meet the moment. Together, we can build a better Saanich that is more affordable, more livable, and more sustainable.
